Media artist Craig Baldwin's third and final trip to the Twin Cities as
part of his Walker artist residency culminates in a media arts exhibition
showcasing some of the work, artists, and organizations he worked with
since his first visit in April 2000. Providing balance to the recent focus
on digital mediamaking, Baldwin will be assisted by Walker Art Center
Teen Arts Council (WACTAC) members in presenting De Facto Films,
an installation of recontextualized film and discarded projection equipment.
Some of the artists and organizations showcased in the installation include:
Luke Aune and Justin Braem, Red Eye Cinema, Intermedia Arts, Oak Street
Cinema, Minneapolis College of Art and Design, Midwest Media Artists Access
Center, Scott Miller, Susan Lynn, Escape Mechanism, Marjie Thieman, Jason Jay Stevens & & Leslie
Raymond, Amelie Collins, Jon Haynes, James Leonardo, James Hong, Aaron
Barnell, and Sandy Maliga. This installation is also part of the National
Alliance of Media Arts and Culture conference Mediating Change/Changing
Media.
CRAIG BALDWIN'S RESIDENCY IS MADE POSSIBLE BY GENEROUS SUPPORT FROM THE
LILA WALLACE-READER'S DIGEST FUND AND THE PEW CHARITABLE TRUSTS. LOCAL
ASSISTANCE PROVIDED BY MINNEAPOLIS COLLEGE OF ART AND DESIGN (MCAD) AND
MIDWEST MEDIA ARTISTS ACCESS CENTER (MMAAC).
