Mann's Evening Bags for Midwestern Women
I use most media, often many at one time, in my art practice. Returning to a simplified process, such as painting, often helps me reconnect to a flow of creative energy when I lose my way.
Most of these paintings were made at the beginning of my term in residence at Art Farm in Nebraska this past summer. The series is interspersed with drawings for a woven sculpture with a video element (now on view at the University of Michigan School of Art & Design), & paintings of Prairie Shelter: The Return an outdoor shelter/gathering place with pendulum created with Jason Jay Stevens in the Art Farm sculpture field.
